I am shocked when I know there are still numerous child lived under poverty life in such a prosperity city like Hong Kong. It also reminds me that I quite lucky as I no need to worried about the cost of living and I can have a fruitful and joyful childhood. Thus, I wish to give a hand to these children.
This fund raising event is really meaningful and also let me gain a lot. When I get in touch with these children, who came from low income families, I found that they are easily satisfied and are pure. Just a few books can make them feel very happy and smile can been seen on their face easily. When looking at their, my heart also feel warmth.
What's more, donating a small amount of money doesn't cause problem to my daily life, but do means a lot to them. I hope that people can take the first step to support, don't look down on your effort. When everyone is willing to pay a little bit, this will become an enormous power to support them.

生活在物質豐裕的香港，仍有這麽多的貧窮兒童真的使我感到十分驚訝，也更讓我覺得我是比較幸運的一群。因此，我也希望可以出一分力去支持這班小朋友。
今次的籌款活動相當有意義，更令我獲益良多。跟這班來自低收入家庭的小朋友接觸後，發現他們都很容易滿足，而且很單純。只是幾本舊書已讓他們愛不措手，笑容在他們的臉上也不難看見，看到他們的滿足的笑容，心中泛起絲絲溫暖。
作小量的捐款，其實不足以影響我的生活，但對他們卻相當重要。千萬不要看低自己的力量，當大家也願意踏出第一步去支持他們，這將會成為一股强大力量!

When you grow up, especially organized more and more volunteer service, we started to lag of the aims to do the service and we just do it only.

Actually, doing volunteer is simple: using our energy to help the others. To give our hand to the others and to pass the warm to the needs.

It's not how good you are. It's how good you want to be.

人大了，時間長了，特別是舉辦多了義工活動後，開始忘記了做義工的本質，究竟為何而做？究竟為什麼而做？筆者有一段時間開始感到迷失，感到有一些義工活動是「為做而做」，忽略了做義工本身的目的。

其實，做義工是很簡單的，就是看到社會上有一班有需要的人要我們的幫助，需要我們的支持，哪怕是小小的一分力，都足以為有需人士帶來溫暖和祝福。

作為一個義工，略盡自己一些綿力，去幫助社會上有需要的人，就是這樣簡單。因此，我常提醒自己，將自己所見、所學的事都帶回他們的身上，希望他們有所得益，彼此成長。很多事情，並不是你想你自己有多好，而是你想整件事去到有多好，所以各位，盡所能吧！

I participated in my first voluntary service work in F.4 which I helped plan a carnival for a group of kids who mainly came from low-income families, They could not afford much leisure activities and their working parents seldom have time to be with them. Thus, we organized this carnival by designing simple but fun games for the kids to join for free. It was certainly priceless when we saw how happy the kids were. All it took was a little bit money, resources but most importantly, time.
Many people refuse to join voluntary service work because they don't have enough time. But I can ensure you that the time you spent is definitely worthy when you successfully bring hope to the kids and see their smiling faces.

我中四那年第一次做義工，就是為一班小朋友籌備嘉年華。那些小朋友家境較窮困，平時有的娛樂很少，父母也要長時間工作，沒有很多時間陪伴他們。於是我們一眾義工設計了幾個簡單的攤位遊戲，只用了很少資金及材料，卻為這些小朋友帶來很多快樂。從那一次開始，我更加熱心參與與小朋友有關的義工活動，因為可以看到小朋友真誠的笑容，是無價的。
現在社會很多人說自己時間也不夠用，又怎有空閒去做義工呢。其實，時間是自己分配的，你的一個幫忙一點努力能為一個小孩的人生帶來多點希望，又何樂而不為呢？

“It’s more blessed to give than to receive” is my mother’s life motto. She always teaches me it’s my pleasure to help others. Through this donation event, I know more about the community where I live. I experienced the most important value in a civilized society, i.e. LOVE.

If we are holding a discriminatory attitude towards those impoverished children, there is impossible for us to get along with them cordially. But if we are willing to take the initiative to reach out and care for them, we will recognize that actually getting along with them is a very happy thing. Although their material life may not as good as others, they never repine at their unhappy lots. In the contrary, they work very hard to strive for better results in their schools, hoping that breaking out the poverty by their own efforts.They showed their determination through their eyes. Their attitudes inspired me a lot. This fundraising is a very meaningful event.

以前常聽說「施比受更有福」，透過這次的籌款活動，使我對社會的事物又加多一分了解，令我體會到一樣最重要的，就是人的愛心。
因為若你抱著一個歧視的心態去對待貧窮兒童，根本沒可能跟他們和洽相處，但若願意主動去接觸和關懷他們，其實跟他們相處是一件很快樂的事。雖然他們的物質生活可能不如其他人，但他們並未自怨自艾，反而努力不懈、力爭上游，希望靠自己的努力脫離貧窮。他們堅定的眼神正展現他們可愛的一面。我在這次籌款活動有很多得著，我覺得這次是很有意義的活動，讓別人感受到社會人士的關心也使自己獲益良多。

The real children’s education and assistance should not be limited in schools and government departments. It is glad that Hope Worldwide brings children an opportunity; an opportunity to break the poverty cycle, an opportunity to develop their potential and an opportunity to gain learning aid and characters’ nurture at the same time.
Fortunately, I could be one of the ones providing helping hand. I wish to offer help to those who would be the next pillar of the society. There is a lot of needy. What we could do would be paying as much as effort and as much as financial assistance as we can in order to benefit more children.

真正的學童教育和援助不應只局限於學校及政府部門，慶幸寰宇希望帶給了孩子一個機會，一個打破貧窮循環的機會，一個發展潛能的機會，一個同時獲得學習協助和品格培養的機會。
幸運地，能成為伸出援手的一份子，幫助將來的社會棟樑，需要援助的人很多，但願我們能多付出一分力，多付出一分錢，令更多有需要的孩童受惠！
